Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 12, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Khaki Studio LLC (“Khaki Studio”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), which operates the Khaki virtual staging service (the “Service”), collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website and AI-powered virtual staging tools. The Service uses artificial intelligence to add virtual furniture and décor to photographs of real estate so that agents, brokers, photographers, and property owners can market vacant or lightly furnished spaces.
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Information we collect
We collect only the limited information needed to operate the Service:
- Name and email address. When you create an account, we collect your name and email address to authenticate you and communicate with you about your account and the Service.
- Image title. When you stage a photograph, we store the title associated with that image so you can identify your staged results.
- Images you upload and generate.You upload property photographs to be virtually staged. The resulting virtually staged image is stored for 30 days so you can access and download it, after which it is permanently deleted (see “Data retention” below).
Payments are handled by our payment processor (Stripe), which collects your payment card and billing details directly. We do not receive or store your full payment card number.
2. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including processing your images into virtually staged outputs;
- Authenticate your account, manage your token balance, and process purchases and refunds;
- Apply our virtual staging disclosure label to exported images;
- Communicate with you about your account, transactions, support requests, and important Service updates;
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, security incidents, and technical issues;
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
3. How we process your images with AI
To generate staged images, the photographs and instructions you submit are transmitted to our third-party AI model provider (Google, via the Gemini image generation API) solely to perform the staging you request. The generated image is returned to you through the Service.
- Storage and deletion. We store the resulting virtually staged image for 30 days so you can access and download it. After 30 days, the staged image is permanently deleted from our systems.
- No training on your Content by us.We do not use your uploaded images or generated outputs to train our own models. Our AI provider processes your Content under its own terms; we use providers that offer enterprise/API processing intended not to train their general models on submitted API content, but you should review the provider’s policies for details.
- Your responsibility for Content. You must have the rights necessary to upload and stage each photograph. Do not upload images that contain identifiable individuals, sensitive personal information, or content you are not authorized to use.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described below:
- Service providers (subprocessors). We share information with vendors who help us run the Service, including: Supabase (account authentication and database), Google (AI image processing), Stripe (payment processing), and our hosting and infrastructure providers. These providers may process your information only on our behalf and under contractual confidentiality and security obligations.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Khaki Studio, our users, or the public.
5. Data retention
We retain your name, email address, and image titles for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal and tax obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Virtually staged images are stored for 30 days and then permanently deleted. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.
6. Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies to authenticate users, maintain sessions, and protect against fraud. These cookies are required for the Service to function and cannot be turned off through the Service. We do not use cookies to sell your data or to serve third-party advertising. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling necessary cookies may prevent you from signing in.
7. Virtual staging disclosure
Virtual staging alters photographs and can mislead buyers if it is not clearly disclosed. Exported images include a “Virtually Staged” label, and you remain responsible for complying with MLS rules, fair housing laws, and state and brokerage advertising regulations. See our virtual staging disclosure for details.
8. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
